After their electric 2025 performance Resistance, Mizizi Ensemble returns to Kilele, not with answers, but with deeper questions.

The experimental supergroup takes the stage at The Rift for a new work that continues the conversation they began last year. With Labdi Ommes (KE), Monrhea (KE), Nyokabi Kariũki (KE),Bernt Isak Wærstad (NO) and Jane Arnison (AU), Mizizi now ask: what remains?

If resistance carries the promise of hope, change and freedom , what does freedom actually mean? Freedom for whom? At what cost? How is it lived, contested and embodied across different contexts?

What remains… invites the audience into a visceral ritual of sound, space and gathering ,exploring freedom as both a promise and a paradox. Join us at The Rift - Manohar Center on 25th Feb from 8:00pm - 10:00pm.
