For this third and final Veillée sonore of the season, MansA (Maison des Mondes Africains) welcomes Kenyan composer and performer Nyokabi Kariũki on Thursday, June 18, an intimate performance.
I will perform a piece with ensemble Klangforum Wien at a concert on 13th June at 7:30pm at ORF RadioKulturhaus, Vienna, AT.

In 2022, Gaudeamus paired the octet with Nyokabi to perform pieces from her debut EP peace places: kenyan memories live. Three years later, they connect again to perform a new commission: Birdsongs from Kĩrĩnyaga.
I team up with music technologist Dr. Astrid Bin to get closer towards the crux of my piece, “Meditations on the Sounding African Body.” Here, we will present our findings so far at the Institute for Musical Acoustics (IWK) in Vienna, at a symposium organised as the culmination of research by Dr. Alex Hofmann.
