*Nyokabi Kariũki is an artist-in-residence at Fors AiR Retreat, presented by Fors and Retreat Radio. During the night, Kariũki will offer a guided listening session on the groundbreaking work of Egyptian composer Halim El-Dabh, as part of the residency. On October 12th, Black Archives Sweden will host Kariũki’s workshop “Embodied Percussion” between 2–4pm (registration required) in which the artist will share research into the longstanding and inseparable relationship between the African body, movement, and sound-making—both individually and communally.
