Grateful for another opportunity to honour an invitation to be a part of Akademie Zweite Modernisme, an initiative of the Vienna Festival (Wiener Festwochen) that “aims to promote gender equality in music culture and thus change centuries-old inequality.”
I will speak at the summit’s opening on 12th June and perform a piece with ensemble Klangforum Wien at a concert on 13th June at 7:30pm. The concert also includes work from a legendary group of composers, including Tania León, Elaine Mitchener, Bára Gísladóttir, Ailís Ní Ríain. More information about the concert here.

Every year, ten women composers* perform their compositions as ambassadors of the Academy in two concerts during the festival weeks. At the additional summit meeting, participants engage in panels and workshops on relevant issues addressed in the Academy Declaration and strengthen their powerful alliance.
Since the academy was founded, more and more alliance partners worldwide have joined, setting an example for a gender-equitable, diverse music culture.
